Children are our future, honour them, they are our most valuable and vulnerable resource.
The National Network of CAPC & CPNP Projects started officially in January 2007. That is when the Network began regular teleconferencing, developed a terms of reference and became an entity.

National Network established with members from across the country
Gena Robertson founding Chair
First official Network teleconference call held
Terms of reference created and approved
Recruitment process for representation initiated to ensure a ‘national voice’
Centres of Excellence contacted to form a connection
No funding available for the Network; individual members fund the calls
2008
National Network members meet with Kelly Stone, Director of Childhood and Adolescence (PHAC) to share updates and information on CAPC/CPNP and the National Network
Joanne King (ON) and Gena Robertson (ON) co-chair National Network; Heather Block (MB) becomes Vice-Chair
Survey conducted through members to capture a national picture of CAPC/CPNP projects, regional coalitions, associations, etc
National Website created www.healthycanadianchildren.com
Centres of Excellence contacted to explore ways to better bridge between them and CAPC/CPNP, using the Network
National set of Impact Statements created (originally created for Ontario and then modified to a national perspective)

First Network face-to-face meeting held in Toronto at the Ontario CAPC/CPNP National Projects Fund (NPF) Training Symposium. Article on National Network included in “Sharing Matters”, Ontario CAPC/CPNP Coalition’s semi-annual newsletter
Sue Rossi and Gena Robertson co-chair
Network teleconference call held with national partner organizations (Safe Kids Canada & FRP Canada) to share ways we can work together
2010
National Network receives special National Projects Fund funding to create an Anniversary Celebration book to distribute across the country
Gena Robertson and Sue Rossi co-chair; Beth Bonvie (Ontario Coalition consultant) provides support
National Network members meet with Dr. Judith Bosse, Associate Assistant Deputy Minister, of the Health Promotion and Chronic Disease Prevention Branch, Public Health Agency of Canada, to dialogue re: Network and CAPC/CPNP
